Your tuning preference

We save your chosen A4 reference frequency in this browser’s local storage so it can be restored on your next visit. It is not sent to a server. Choose 440 Hz in Settings to clear the saved preference, or clear this site’s data in your browser. If storage is blocked, your selection lasts for the current page only.

Your microphone audio stays on your device

The tuner requests microphone access only when you start tuning. Short audio windows are analyzed in your browser to estimate pitch. We do not record or upload microphone audio. Frequency readings and tuning progress remain in temporary browser memory.

Stop Tuning turns off the microphone. It also stops when you switch tabs or leave the page. You can revoke permission in your browser’s site settings.

Reference sounds

Reference tones play for two seconds. Playing one stops the microphone so the tuner doesn’t listen to its own sound. Tap Start Tuning to resume. Tones also stop when you leave the page or switch tabs.

Hosting and ordinary web requests

Cloudflare hosts this site. Loading a website sends network information such as your IP address and request details to the hosting provider. Cloudflare may process that information for delivery, security and network diagnostics. This is separate from microphone audio, which is not sent to Cloudflare.

There are no accounts or ads. Third-party tracking scripts are blocked. Cloudflare still processes requests needed to deliver and protect the site. See Cookies and Browser Storage for more details.

Feedback you choose to share

Text entered on the feedback page stays in your browser until you reload. Copy report puts it on your clipboard. Open email draft opens your email app; you still need to send the message yourself.

If you send an email, your email provider and I receive your address and message. I may keep the message to investigate or reply to your report. Please leave out recordings and unnecessary personal information.
