Using the service

You can use the tuner and learning charts free of charge, without an account. Please don’t disrupt the site or try to access it unlawfully.

Readings and instrument care

Pitch readings are guidance and can be affected by your instrument, microphone, browser and surroundings. Check one open string at a time. Make small adjustments and ask a teacher or instrument technician for help with a stuck peg, damaged string or unfamiliar instrument. Reference tones are generated sounds, not recordings of a violin.

The site and charts are provided as available, with no promise that they are error-free or suitable for every device or purpose. Nothing on this page removes rights that applicable consumer law gives you.

Printable chart permission

You may download, print and share our original fingering charts for personal practice and classroom teaching, keeping the source credit. This permission does not cover third-party material linked from the site. Please do not sell the charts or present them as your own work without asking us first.

Feedback and third-party services

You choose what to send through the feedback page. Please leave out private recordings and unnecessary personal details. Email providers and linked websites have their own terms. See Privacy for how audio and feedback are handled.
